In our recent blog posts we have been highlighting local business that also promote health and wellness and the appreciation of nature and the environment. We encourage you to read our previous post featuring the Sally Manzara Nature Interpretive Center.

In this blog post we want to introduce Cimarron Community Farm, a delightful oasis nestled in the heart of Lake Elmo, Minnesota! Cimarron is more than just a place to grow crops; it’s a vibrant community supported agriculture (CSA) initiative that fosters a strong bond between farmers and members of the local community.

Cimarron Community Farm takes great pride in cultivating fresh, organic produce using sustainable and eco-friendly practices. Their team of experienced farmers dedicates themselves to tending the land with care, ensuring that the fruits of labor are of the highest quality using no-till farming methods.

Here’s how the CSA program works: Community members can become CSA subscribers by purchasing a share of the farm’s produce at the beginning of the growing season. By doing so, they become an essential part of the farm family. The upfront financial support from CSA members allows farmers to plan and invest in the necessary resources for a successful harvest.

Throughout the growing season, which typically runs from spring to fall, subscribers receive a delightful variety of seasonal vegetables and fruits. They grow over 85 varieties of vegetables in their 13 community garden plots. Each week, members can look forward to a colorful assortment of farm-fresh delights, carefully harvested and packed.

As a Cimarron Community Farm CSA member, you’ll not only enjoy the finest produce but also gain a deeper connection to the food you eat. You’ll learn more about the agricultural process, witness the changing seasons’ impact on crops, and share in the joy of knowing precisely where your food comes from. By becoming a part of the CSA, you’ll be supporting local agriculture, reducing your ecological footprint, and promoting a healthier lifestyle. The benefits extend beyond the farm gates, positively impacting the environment, local economy, and community spirit.

In addition to the CSA, They have a free farmers market every other Monday night from 4-6pm at 11035 10th Street in Lake Elmo, MN.

Upcoming 2023 farmers market dates:

July 31st

August 7th and 21st

September 5th (Tuesday due to Labor Day) and 18th

October 2nd and 16th

Cimarron Community Farm serves as a gathering place for the Lake Elmo and Twin Cities community. Throughout the season, they host various events such as farm tours, workshops, and volunteer days, where members can actively participate in farm activities and learn valuable skills, in addition to a community garden space. Stay up-to-date on events through their Facebook Page or find them on Instagram @cimarroncommunityfarm.
